WELCOME BACK TIGERS!!!!!

We have completed DAY TWO of school and I am excited to be back! We have focused on a lot of procedures, routines, and expectations. It will take some time to get in the groove of it all, but so far the new 4th graders are doing an awesome job! We have been have fun getting to know each other and learning the different ways each student learns. 

For HOMEWORK:

  1. Please bring in your SUMMER BOOK REPORT by Monday, August, 22nd. This is the first graded work. It is wirth 100 points because the book read will also be the first AR test of the school year!
  2. ABOUT ME Newspaper is also due on Monday. That is also graded work.
  3. EVERY DAY, students should be reading 20 minutes and practicing their math facts!!!! Addition, subtraction, multiplication AND DIVISION. Get flashcards if you must.

1. Work on Black History month presentation.

Studies will come dressed in their uniform/spirit wear, and have their clothes brought separately. Students will change according to the block they sign up for.

Students are encouraged to have their speech written on notecards to help them present and deliver a 3-4 minute speech. 

2. Reread pgs. 120-123 in Wonders book

Summarize p. 123 and can do questions on p. 124 

to prepare for quiz tomorrow

Homework and Anouncements

A lot of us are coming back from the cold, cough and/or stomach bug flu! My family and I included. I hope this long weekend was spent resting and recovering from it.

I wanted to update you on what is coming up. In class, we have been discussing Black History heroes. Last week a Biography worksheet was sent home attached with a rubric. We went over the rubric today and the Oral Presentation, speech, and worksheet is due Friday, March 4th. Students will present in class and present in other classrooms. Please review the rubric with your child. 

We are also talking about Presidents this week. Tonight's homework is a 4-square on Ronald Reagan. 

Along with Safety Touch and Bullying precention lessons his week, we are focusing on RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) to welcome Lent. Discuss with your child different random acts of kindness.
